Big Data For Small Places is a toolkit including an interactive map, dashboard, and a smartphone application for data collection. These elements work together to precisely track and display data. The toolkit is designed for local governments and nonprofits because these small places often lack the expertise, technology, and resources to implement and manage effective, evidence-based decisions on service delivery.
My team used the sanitation in Poughkeepsie as a data collection framework that will be usable for other iterations of the dashboard. I designed and developed this dashboard in Bootstrap.
This is a map designed for low income citizens to receive directions to local specialized service providers that would otherwise be difficult to find on Google Maps. The map includes categories such as medical assistance, education centers, food areas, and employment opportunities to help narrow the user’s results. The map also contains bus route schedules and a “Near Me” button for easier navigation.
